A dwarf globe with very short dark green needles.
This very slow growing (one to two inches per year) hardy conifer eventually reaches a diminutive 2-5' in height. This unique shrub creates an interesting and irregular form which is somewhat globose and features medium dark-green needles. This cultivar was first selected in 1979 by Al Fordham; this is a good-looking specimen that is simply adorable! S/M
Pinus banksiana 'Manomet' - A dwarf upright globe of Jack Pine. Very hardy with small green needles 1¼ inch long. Plant will only be 2' in 10 years. Plant was first written about in 1979 with two other cultivars. May have been a sport or a seedling with banksiana 'Chippewa'.
A dwarf globe when young this tends to leader with age, yet another of the Arnold Arb introductions it grows at about half the rate of 'Schoodic'.
