A narrow weeping form with a layered or stacking appearance. Cultivar was introduced in France by 1867, and is still seen too infrequently today!
This elegant tall (40-50') conifer forms a narrow conical tree clothed in weeping branches of grey-green foliage: a dramatic accent, a stately sentry, distinctive and handsome. S/M
A White spruce originating from a native stand in Guelf, Ontario. Highly prized for its narrow conical form with all branches tightly hugging the trunk. Beautiful silver-blue needles.
A gracefully weeping evergreen with blue-green foliage. The branches hug the trunk, creating a uniform, elegant look. It prefers sun to light shade and moist, well drained soil, but it will adapt to harsh conditions and, when established, be drought tolerant.
Picea glauca 'Pendula' - A beautiful selection from the Morton Arboretum. It is a weeping white spruce with gray-green small leaves. Plant needs to be staked to go up. Each branch seems to change direction almost at a 90° angle. Very nice focal point and narrow for smaller gardens!
Leader goes up perfectly straight, branches weep straight down; this was found by Carri?re in Versailles in 1867.
This first Plant Select® conifer recommendation is a living sculpture for the landscape. Very hardy form of the boreal spruce that also thrives in summer heat. The graceful foliage shimmers, and the weeping form adds drama and texture to any setting. With its compact footprint, this distinctive specimen enhances tight landscape and garden settings. A must-have for winter interest!
Upright with gray-blue needles, side branches droop sharply. Hardy in USDA Zones 2-8.
This makes a fine weeping plant that is not as prostrate as other Piceas. A much admired specimen with blue-green foliage.
