Nursery contributed plant descriptions

?The beauty of its family? (D. C. Peattie), the tall spire-like tops of the white spruce outlined against the sky are the epitome of the north; its lower branches sweep down to meet the earth then turn up at the tip. S-PSh/M
A stately, elegant spruce. When peeled back, the thin and flaky bark exposes layers of silvery smooth new bark. The tree is broad and dense when young, but matures into a fairly narrow, dense spire reaching into the sky. Grows to 60' tall and 20' wide.
