Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The mother plant to many well known varieties. The large serrated petals on this hydrangea are very crowded with strong stems making this a favorite amongst florists for forcing and cutting blooms. Makes a great dried flower, too. This plant is one of the best growing varieties but is sometimes mistaken for Hamburg. Color will vary with acidity from deep pink in alkaline soil to vivid blue in high acid soil. This plant can bloom in purple as well.
Very large florets of deep-rose-pink or vivid blue make this vigorous, tall shrub a beautiful sight in mid-to-late-season. PSh/Med(not dry) acid:blue, alkaline:pink.
MOPHEAD. This variety has large, dark pink to purplish blue flowers in equally large mopheads.
