Light blue mophead w/ single and double florets with serrated sepals

By: Nasketucket Gardens

The beautiful wine-red blooms. This Oak Leaf hydrangea is one of Michael Dirr's introductions with eye popping color all year long. The panicle creamy white sterile flowers bloom in June for most areas and don't stop looking fantastic until the first hard frost. Dramatic wine red color on these large round sepals will make you stop in your tracks. Fall color on the leaves, too.
From pale-lilac to shell-pink deeper, from single to almost doubled, this medium shrub produces delightful conical flowers Aug 'til frost. PSh/Med (not dry)/acid:blue, alkaline:pink.
MOPHEAD. This late bloomer is a delightful plant. The mophead is very tight when immature, opening to a well-spaced modified showy dome of ray-florets. The color can vary from pale lavender to a mauve-blue, gradually becoming mauve toward the center of the florets when mature.
