This multi-stemmed dense deciduous small tree will eventually reach about 10' x 10'. Chartreuse new growth turns bluish-green in summer and then buttery yellow in fall. Use as you would a shrub that allows smaller things to be planted beneath it. Minimum temperature: -30?F
A dwarf ginkgo originating as a witch's broom at Spring Grove Nursery.
It seems there are several clones going around under this name because there are at least two different dwarf Ginkgo at the Spring Grove cemetary in Ohio. We don't know which this is or if it is both; we started with more than one plant. But we do know it they are dwarf and very attractive in conical growth habit.
I believe this is the same plant Dirr mentions as 'Spring Grove Witches Broom', a mounded bushy form found as a broom at Spring Grove Arboretum.
DWARF. A compact, rounded form, discovered as a 'witches' broom' in Ohio. One of the nicest of the small Ginkgos!
