Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Small growing ginkgo that will get 4'X4' in many years. The growth is only 2”-3” per year. A great container plant. Also, for the smaller garden.
An excellent and unusual form for a Ginkgo, this lovely shrub is low-spreading reaching only 3' tall and 8-10' wide, this amazing specimen also has unique, delightfully scalloped leaves that turn a brilliant gold in the autumn; a wonderful plant for a focal point! S/M
This dwarf Maidenhair Tree was discovered as a mutation in Holland in 1995. It has only recently been introduced, and grows very slowly with leaves of varying sizes.
Slow-growing, spreading dwarf deciduous conifer. Large green ruffled leaves give this tree a frilly appearance. Vivid gold hues enhance its diminutive form in fall. Excellent choice for a small garden or bonsai.
Horizontal branching with pendulous tips are covered with scallop-edged leaves. Superior golden-yellow fall color.
Zone:4-8 (Zone 3 with winter protection) This small Ginkgo is deer resistant, pollution resistant and easy to grow in moist but well drained medium PH soil. Leaves are small, slightly cupped, fantail shape. Excellent for Bonsai, patio plant or unique tree for small scale garden. Mariken is a male cultivar which means no messy (and amazingly no odoriferous fruit). It grows slowly to about 24" at 10 years then slightly larger with age depending on soil and climate. Our selection is older and considered specimen size. Trunk size averages ¾ to 1 inch thick with honey colored vertical strata. Larger photo shows summer color. Smaller photo shows start of golden fall color. Shipping size: approximately 14" high x 15" wide.
Ginkgo biloba 'Mariken' is a wonderful dwarf conifer (yes, Ginkgo is a conifer!) that reaches 2.5' tall x 3' wide in about 10 years. Bright green leaves have two lobes and are unique among woody plants. They turn bright gold in fall and will all drop off within a 24 hour period. 'Mariken' makes a fantastic addition to rock gardens, fairy gardens, or containers. Voted 2010 conifer of the year by the American Conifer Society. Originally found as a witches' broom by Piet Vergeldt in the Netherlands in 1995.
More Ginkgo cultivars are being propagated than ever before. Stiffly horizontal, this male is a dwarf shrubby form that grows 3-4 ft. tall x 5-8 ft. wide over 10 years.
Thick, spreading branches with dense fan-shaped foliage. Yellow fall color. Good in containers. Zones 5-9
Mariken is a shrubby ginkgo which will stay small; it has small roundish leaves; excellent golden fall color; zone 4.
Discovered as a witches' broom growing on a male clone, this dwarf form has leaves slightly smaller than the species but with a tight congested habit. Expect it to grow to be a 3' x 3' plant in 10 years. Yellow fall color. 12-15" plants for spring shipping.
Compact form of Ginkgo with a pendulous habit. It should be staked in youth for a taller plant.
