Its beautifully lobed leaves first emerge in spring as an exquisite soft butter-yellow before gradually darkening later in summer to an irregular variegation of green brushed with white. In autumn the leaves turn a vibrant golden-yellow; this is a wonderful choice for gardens where a standard Ginkgo tree is too large or any garden where an unusual accent is desired.
