With the same gorgeous, deep dark-purple leaves, bronze-gold fall color and smooth gray bark as 'Purpurea' but in a much smaller package! This delightful miniature version of the purple-leaf beech will only reach a diminutive 10' tall by 6' wide. A charming dwarf which is suitable for small landscapes, accents or large containers. S/M
This is a wonderful miniature version of purple-leaf beech. It features the same beautiful dark purple leaves and smooth gray bark as 'Purpurea' but at a much slower growth rate and smaller ultimate size. Growing 2-3" per year, 'Purpurea Nana' is suitable for most small landscapes and even miniature or fairy gardens. Morning sun and afternoon shade will give the best foliage color. Soil should be rich, well-drained, and consistently moist but not wet.
This dwarf Beech can reach 10' x 6'. With all the great attributes of the larger F. s. 'Purpurea' now postage stamp gardeners can enjoy this amazing tree!
