Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This giant of a grass from South America is understandably popular for the 10-15' fountain of evergreen, saw-toothed leaves it makes, as well as the beautiful creamy plumes which adorn it in late summer. S/M-D
One of the largest ornamental grasses, Pampas grass has beautiful silver-white plumes August through February, it is drought tolerant once established and is also tolerant of poor, rocky soils. May be divided in late winter to early spring. Pampas grass dries nicely for arrangements, or can be used for fresh cut arrangements. Growth Rate fast
Evergreen. Dramatic white 1-2' plumes, wave from tops of 8-12' stalks. A great focal point for the garden. Not reliably evergreen below Zone 8; it is best to tie the grassy clump and winter mulch the root area.
