Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Glossy leathery foliage is attractive all year but in late springing its 2-3" pale-pink (deeper mauve on reverse, lightly-fragrant) flowers in profusion put this 15-30' vine in its glory... a highlight of spring! S-PSh/M
Evergreen climbing vine with dark green foliage. From March into May it is covered with an abundance of fragrant white flowers that are blushed with pink.
Set against the glossy, evergreen foliage early spring greets the visitor with masses of light rose colored flower buds. Bursting open they are a soft shell pink with darker pink undersides. Adding to the display the flowers are highly fragrant with the scent of vanilla. Our plants are staked to 3 feet with numerous upright leaders. Filtered to full sun in well drained soils.
This vigorous, evergreen clematis blooms in early spring with masses of small, star-shaped, sweetly fragrant flowers that are pink in bud opening to white flowers with pink reverses. The young leaves and stems have a lovely bronze tint. The mature leaves are long, pointed and deep green. Tolerant of part shade. As with all clematis C. armandii appreciates it's roots in the shade.
Lolling upon vigorous yet slightly tender polished foliage, vanilla-scented, eye-catching clusters of white saucer-shaped 2 by 2 inch flowers are defined by yellow stamens and 4 to 6 well-spaced broad tepals with pink painted flip-sides. Sprightly rose-colored buds and bronze-tinged stems further enhance the long boat-shaped dark green leaves, which sport conspicuous ribbing, pointed tips and rich coppery hues when young. A 2002 Garden Merit Award recipient, this stylish evergreen climber affords an enticing floriferous display each spring and a handsome year-round presence when situated in a sheltered well-drained sunny abode, such as a south-facing garden or house wall.
This selection has very soft pink fragrant flowers with a vanilla scent. The flower buds are almost rose and the petal undersides are a deeper pink. Flowers in early to midspring on a vigorous 15' vine. Now, I have to tell you, everyone who comes into the nursery when this is in bloom finds a home for one. And that's not hard to do because its foliage is beautiful all year.
