Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Clematis alpina 'Constance' displays deep purple-pink tepals with white staminodes. Alpinas can be grown from bright shade to full sun and used as a climber, rambler or ground cover. Their delicate flowers are followed by attractive, silky seed heads. They are one of the hardiest and easiest of all species to grow. Pruning group A.
It is a lovely new pink flowered selection of the alpina species. The blooms have a rich color and are semi-double, too! It is very generous with a heavy first bloom in spring and steady light repeats. Constance also has beautiful, fluffy seed heads. Dr. Seuss would be jealous of these!
Has deep purple-pink, 2" semi-double flowers on 10' vines.
