Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Clematis Vyvyan Pennel will produce hefty double flowers in late spring and early summer on the old wood from the previous season. These first blooms are a mass of pinkish purple petals flaring out from the large center boss of stamens that is also impressive in itself packed full of cream colored filaments and anthers. The second blooms are single and appear in early fall on the new growth.
Lilac and lavender-blue double and semidouble rosettes with golden yellow anthers and occasionally green outer sepals. One of the best known of all double flowering clematis. A vigorous grower. [Group A, June - September, 6-9']
