Clematis The First Lady was bred and named by Steffens of New York in the 70's. The flowers are large, sometimes as large as 10 inches! They are described as silvery lavender-blue with reddish purple stamens. They open with a darker central bar that lightens through maturity. Early, Large Flowered Hybrid.
