This clematis has two bloom times! From May to late June, then usually has a second, less profuse bloom in mid-August. This cultivar prefers a shady location where it has protection from afternoon sun. Pink and lavender striped blossoms last for weeks instead of days. This reliable & stunning heirloom was introduced in France in 1897.
This is an outstanding selection for flower size (6-8), compact habit and long bloom period. It bears flowers heavily in both late spring and late summer. Great for cut flowers, too! Early, Large Flowered Type.
Mauve-pink flowers with carmine bars May-June & Sept. Prune Feb-Mar cutting back to buds at 18". Hardy to Zone 4.
