Another breathtaking-blue deodar, this one is a hardy pyramidal form selected from Pakistan with the fine-needled weeping-tipped branches of the species. S/M/GDr
This is a narrow variety of Himalayan cedar. New growth in the spring is a bright blue, that gradually fades to green. This creates a shimmering effect through most of the season. This tree will be the perfect addition to a yard where year round interest is needed. Growth Rate medium
Cedrus deodara ' Karl Fuchs ' A bluish-silver, cold hardy strain of Himalayan Cedar. Leaves are a silver blue with pendulous tips. Tree grows similair to species. Selected from a 'Paktia' seedling source by Horstmann Nursery, Germany. Found around 1979.
A hardy silvery blue clone selected by Horstman from a group of seedlings (seed was collected in the Paktia province of Afghanistan) and introduced in 1979, the bluest of the Paktia forms it survived unprotected in Gee's arboretum last winter with little or no damage. The high alpine forms of deodara show impressive cold tolerance.
More cold hardy than the species. This plant was selected from seed from Afghanistan for its cold hardiness. The leaves are a wonderful silver blue and growth habit is very narrow.
