Agapanthus 'Northern Star' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In summer blue flowers emerge. Features grassy texture. 'Northern Star' is a hardy Agapanthus for zone 6b with broad, strap-shaped, evergreen to semi-evergreen leaves. It produces erect stems bearing dense, rounded umbels of dark-blue flowers with a violet-blue stripe down the middle of each petal. This bicolour effect is extra gorgeous especially will early morning light shining through the flowers. Lily-of-the-Nile are gorgeous, subtropical-looking, long-blooming plants for gardens or pots. In cold winter regions grow in a pot and keep at around freezing in winter.
