This grafted cultivar – Waterfall is a green lace leaf weeping cultivar similar to Viridis. The new growth is light green turning to strong green in the summer. The green bark is a beautiful accent to the overall appearance of the maple therefore staking is recommended to create a canopy or umbrella appearance. Strong summer green turns to yellow to orange. Waterfall is a moderate to fast growing cultivar reaching 5′-6′ tall and wide in 10 years. Perfect as an accent to a water feature or pond – or grown in a patio container. 'Waterfall' is a strongly cascading dissectum with slightly larger leaves than Viridis. Its bright green leaves have a longer, more flowing appearance resembling a soothing waterfall. Fall color is yellow with a hint of crimson. This outstanding cultivar holds well in full sun and can grow to about 6 feet.

An Almost Eden exclusive! This green-leaved Dwarf Japanese Maple has proven to be quite tolerant to shaping and pruning and the hot Southern Summers even in Full sun! Reliably provides fall colors of glowing orange, reds, and yellows, even in zone 8B. Reddish bronze new growth develops into a soft green. Our tree is kept pruned into a bowl-cut form and is about 8'H x 10-12'W.
There's no question where this hardy & beautiful weeper got its name!... sturdy branches cascade strongly & are covered by long, finely-dissected leaves which seem to "flow" along its lovely lines; yellow-tinted-crimson fall color S-PS
Like Viridis and Palmatifidum, this is a mounding-type shrub, growing much wider than tall with deeply dissected leaves. My specimen turns more red than the expected yellow in the fall. zone 6
DISSECTUM, green. This maple has larger leaves than most dissectums and does well in those full sun locations. Breathtaking shades of gold in fall, tinged with crimson. Its cascading manner gives rise to its poetic name. Young plants should be staked to attain height.
