Toyama Nishiki Japanese Maple is a slow-growing variegated variety with colors of greens, pinks, and creams. It has a lace leaf structure, bringing a unique color and a nice texture to your landscape. The fall color of Toyama Nishiki Japanese maple is stunning, with shades of gold, oranges, and reds.
This beautiful little tree is in the variegated category for Japanese Maples. In the dissectum group JMs have lacy leaves and are known as the weeping form of a Japanese Maple. Toyama nishiki is an exceptionally lacy and slow-growing variegated maple – the leaves are a mixture of green, pink and cream. Morning sun and afternoon shade is the best to display the color varigation. This smaller and slow growing lace leaf can provide a focal point of color in a shady garden. Height and width in 10 years is about 4′. This somewhat rare and unusual lace leaf maple displays gold, orange, and red tones in the fall. Once established this cultivar is hardy to USDA zone 6.

Acer palmatum dissectum 'Toyama nishiki' - A variegated form of lace-leaf Japanese Maple. Small plant with green, pink, and white leaves. The green actually turns slightly red near fall. More delicate and smaller growing than most lace-leaf varieties.
Dissectum. Red-green leaves have magenta, pink or cream variegation. Variegation is unpredictable - an entire leaf or just part of a lobe can have the unique color. Other leaves might not have any variegation. Grows best in partial shade, full sun can burn the foliage.
The very lacy (double-dissected, pinnatifid) leaves of this 3-6' mounder have a base of purple-red; variable but brightly splashed in spring with pink and white; colors are brighter ; last longer in shade. PSh-Shade/Med
Wonderful variegation in this red lace-leaf maple providing winter interest. Very delicate and slow growing. Suitable for containers. Rare in cultivation.
Purple-red to green-red with pink-white variegation, protect from wind, good in containers. Zones 6-8.
DISSECTUM, variegated. A variegated dissectum with leaves showing base coloration of purple-red to greenish-red painted rather haphazardly throughout with creamy-white to pink. Some leaves do not have variegation; others are mottled pink when they come out, white as they mature. The variations on the theme are endless, and the same tree will show differing color patterns from one year to the next. The leaves are more strongly colored when grown in the shade; and because this tree sunburns easily, a shady site is preferred. Keep young trees staked. Rare!
