Creamy yellow-green leaves heavily veined with green darken through the season; leaves more deeply divided than other Ghosts... altogether a fine small-medium-sized tree (to 6-8' x 5' in 10 years). PSh/M
Lightly-colored leaves are finely-toothed. New growth emerges a creamy yellow color, tipped in red. As the foliage matures, it becomes more greenish with darker-colored veins persisting. Fall color is mostly orange and red with lighter-colored reticulatio
Another Sam – [I am] favorite. This exceptional maple is truly unique with a feathery green-white appearance. A small to medium sized tree with showy reticulated leaves. The term reticulated relates to the visibility of the veins in the leaves. The spring color varies between light green, light yellow and whitish green leaves with green veins. The reticulated leaves show a deep serrated cut making them look soft and lacey. As with other variegated maples morning sun and afternoon shade is preferred. This ghost maple really is more impressive than our photo above which shows the beginning of fall color. However, when Sister Ghost receives more sunlight the fall color is yellow-gold. A very nice addition to the ghost maple series. Sister Ghost like other Japanese maples benefits from some pruning to shape the tree, as well as removing any dead branches. The first photo is courtesy of Talon Buchholz. Once established this cultivar is hardy to USDA zone 5. A collector’s must. Companion plants include ferns, heuchera and spring flowering bulbs.

A great cultivar from the Buchholz Nursery here in Oregon. Deeply dissected toothed leaves are very pale cream-green with dark green veining and light pink tips on new foliage going to a lovely lime-green and then entering fall dressed in a eye catching yellow-orange. As with almost all white variegated cultivars, protection from afternoon sun is needed.
This small Japanese maple will mature to about 10' x 10'; with nearly white, deeply dissected leaves in spring, maturing to pale green with dark green veining and light pink tips! Protect from hot afternoon sun. Yellow-orange fall color.
Deeply divided, seven-lobed leaves have large hooked teeth along the margins. A strong network of green veins against a creamy background gives it its place among the "Ghost series" of palmatums. It needs protection from the hot afternoon sun.
'Sister Ghost' is another of Buchholz Nursery's Ghost Series with dark green veins on a creamy background. The serrations on each leaf are well-defined. This tree can reach over 8 feet in time and makes a noticeable statement in any shady garden.
A spectacular Japanese Maple for spring color! Spring foliage is light yellow-green with prominently-veined leaves, at times enhanced by a subtle pink blush. Fall displays vibrant yellow, orange and red highlights. Discovered and introduced by Buchholz & Buchholz Nursery.
This is the best of the Ghost series in my opinion. It has the superb reticulation on an almost white leaf in spring with pink overtones. The growth habit is a wide cone; to 6'. zone 5
MATSUMURAE, variegated.
