Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This variety is a very popular green bamboo leaf type Japanese maple. The leaves are bright yellow-green in spring turning medium green for summer. The leaves always contrast nice with the dark burgundy colored bark. Fall brings a nice display of yellow-orange.
Acer palmatum 'Scolopendrifolium' - A green leaf linearlobum Japanese Maple. This variety always seems to have a little red hue in the leaf. Does not grow as fast as others they would like to classify it with.
The long, slender leaf lobes of this upright Japanese maple have tips that hang down and curve providing a graceful, cascading look. Light green new growth emerges somewhat ovate, then narrows, lengthens and turns bright, dark green for summer. Heavy flower and seed set lend additional decoration. The trees is easily shaped and a good choice for container culture. Known by other names, including 'Shinobuga oka,' which refers to the linear lobes.
LINEARILOBUM, green. This cultivar has a uniformity of leaf shape that sets it apart from the other linearilobums in that its five lobed leaves are usually uniform in number of lobes, have more substance so they hold out well from the petiole, and show fewer irrecularities in shape of the new foliage. It has rich green summer color and golden yellow in the fall. It also seems more vigorous than many others. All in all a fine cultivar.
