Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A wonderful Japanese Maple with a full upright canopy. Lush spring leaves are purple red, rivaling the popular Bloodgood. Fall color is fiery red to purple.
PALMATUM, red. A seedling selection most likely of 'Bloodgood', 'Ruth's Red' comes originally from Pennsylvania. Our grower says it "is the darkest red upright Maples that I have ever seen... one of those plants that people notice from 40' away. She has seven lobed leaves up to 5" in size, finely serrated at the margins. No color fade throughout summer, then leaves are flaming crimson in fall.
