A ?most outstanding and attractive? cultivar, this 6-12' upright tree is a FLAME of pink in the spring when its 5-7 lobed leaves (some large, some small) emerge and pinkish again in fall; for container or border. S-PSh/M
New spring leaves are bright flame-red maturing to maroon-red. Green tones become more predominant as summer progresses leading to greens with pink shading by fall. Photo taken late October.
Otome zakura is a member of the Corallinum group each of which has brilliant spring foliage, but the summer leaves are paler and more varied. The tree will grow fairly quickly to about 18'.
PALMATUM, red. Very intense tones of red are surpassed by none in color, brilliance and performance. This makes a superb, medium sized tree of exceptional beauty. Luscious and lovely!
