PALMATUM, green. A smaller leafed maple known to develop bright rich fall colors. The early spring leaves open shades of pink or orange-red. The color stays along the margins as the leaves mature and turn light green. In the fall, it changes to an exceedingly brilliant display of fiery red. It makes an upright growing tree with a spreading crown at maturity.
