PALMATUM, red. This is a hardy, vigorous cultivar that will bring lots of color and style into the landscape. The show starts in spring with various shades of orange-red with contrasting green veins. As leaves mature, they turn to rust with green overtones, then finally to a deep bronzy green. Then, in the fall, the oranges, reds and crimsons return for yet another show of color. 'Muro gawa' matures to a round-topped tree, 10 to 13' wide, with somewhat pendulous outer branches.
