Acer palmatum 'Murasaki hime' is a dwarf Japanese Maple Tree that only matures to an average height of 6'. Purple-leaved cultivar. Outer canopy (Sun exposed leaves) are a nice purple, while the inside growth (shaded) are red and green colors. Bright red in the fall.

DWARF, red. This diminutive purple tree has deeply lobed leaves similar in shape to 'Burgundy Lace' with as much if not more serration on the edges. In shade this plant is more red than purple, red to yellow fall color is also muted in shade. Appears to be less vigorous and perhaps more tender to inclement conditions. Sometimes cultivar 'Murasaki kiyohime' is sold incorrectly under this name. Unusual and hard to come by.
