Lacy and colorful, the 7 deeply-divided lobes of this 6-8' rounded shrub are deep bronze-red in spring, green-tinted-red in summer and (the color for which it is famous) bright gold tinted crimson in fall. S-PSh/M
Bronze-red leaves with red petioles. Leaf veins are lighter red or yellow-green. Fall color is golden giving the cultivar it's name which means "woven with gold strings."
7-lobed, deeply divided leaves emerge rich, bronze-red. Bright yellow-green mid-veins. In fall, leaves turn rich gold with crimson highlights.
Kinran is a short wide tree (8' in ten years) well suited for pot culture as it takes well to shaping. The leaves are bronzy in spirng with prominent veining, deeply divided and lacy looking. The veining persists throughout the color changes of summer and fall culminating in striking gold on red.
MATSUMURE, red. Famous for its rich, gold autumn leaf color with crimson highlights. 'Kinran' shows bright green mid veins against shiny red-purple leaves in spring. Deeply cut leaf shape gives a lacy appearance. A broad growing tree with a spreading habit, it adapts well to container or bonsai use. It achieves new glory in the fall with a deep bronze at tip ends fading to a shining golden yellow--a very intriguing selection!
