Acer palmatum 'Ki hachijo' - A sturdy green leaf type of Japanese Maple. Tree grows in a shrub type form being as wide as tall, maturing at 15'. Bark is gray-blue with white strips. Fall color is a nice gold with a red hues.
Bright-green, flat leaves have double serrations on the margins giving it a distinct appearance. Fall color is a yellow-gold with rose highlights.
This is my favorite green Japanese maple because the leaves are a bright light green all summer, and the serrations on the leaves give the tree, which grows easily and stoutly to about 20', a lacy look. The fall color is many-hued and always excellent. zone 6
