Tiny in all respects, the 1" leaves of this little gem and its tolerance of pruning and some drought, make it perfect for bonsai or container. Slow-growing (to 3-6') with lime-green, brick-rimmed leaves in spring and yellow fall color. S-PSh/M
Ornamental new growth in spring and summer opens light yellow-green with rusty-red margins. Tree stays smaller if grown in container. Responds well to pruning. Popular with bonsai enthusiasts. Great in rock gardens.
Kashima is a green dwarf often used for bonsai; if unfertilized the leaves are tiny, but with plenty of water and fertilizer, this can be a strong growing shrub. Fall photo from Winch.
DWARF, green. Bright yellow-green leaves emerge in spring with brick-red margins making a very striking show on this sturdy little dwarf.
