The very distinctive watermelon-red spring color of this uncommon 6-8' variety make it exciting to watch in spring; the unique red of its deeply cut leaves is accented by dark veins and greenish edges. PSh/M
Distinctly brick-red spring leaves are long lasting. In the shade, summer foliage will be cream and green tones, while in the sun, red-pink leaves with dark green veins will appear.
This popular variety puts on an amazing show of variegated color during the spring, starting out pink with dark veins, it changes almost daily, varying in shades of pink and red, with contrasting veins. Summer usually brings a nice copper red.
Leaves with a most unusual red and green-edge, and almost black veins. Remaining interesting all season, it turns red and orange in the fall. Mature height might be 15-20 ft.
Matsumurae Group variegated - A totally different type of variegated Japanese maple Kasagi yama has different tones of red in each leaf each leaf. The primary color is a unique dark red with shadows of green. Veins are dark and visible. Excellent but very rare Japanese maple. Grows to 20' tall after 20-25 years.

A lovely specimen Japanese Maple, in the Matsumurae group, demonstrating unique brick red foliage with black red veins and dark green edges and undersides. The contrast is most pronounced in the spring. It forms an open growing, small to medium tree (15-25'). 3-4' plants for spring shipping.
Another maple that is spectacular in the spring, with excellent brick red color returning in fall. Different color combos than any others.

MATSUMURAE, red variegated. This upright, open growing, small tree makes an excellent specimen in the garden. The deeply cut, 7-lobed leaves are primarily brick-red with dark green edges. The veins are also a different color, varying from light green to almost black. The colors will vary somewhat, depending on exposure to sun or shade, but it is always unique and always beautiful!
