Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Named after a Japanese brocade used by dancers, the new growth of this small 12' tree opens dark-red before turning to copper-green with white-to-yellow tinted with pink variegation, sometimes painting the whole leaf! S-PSh/M
Kara ori nishiki is a not very vigorous variegated tree similar to Oridono nishiki or Kagiri nishiki, upright growing and shrubby.
PALMATUM, coppery green, variegated. This Japanese name refers to a specific brocade often used by dancers. New growth emerges deep red and matures to coppery green in summer with white deepening to yellow variegation, sometimes painting just the edges, sometimes almost entire leaves, and often with pink overtones. A slow growing cultivar that will always intrigue with its colorful brocade.
