This unusual Dr. Seussish maple is a small (6-10') shrub with delicate elongated foliage that can?t quite make up its mind whether to be flat, scrunched or sickled... delightful for container, bonsai or border. S-P/M

'Dr. Seuss' is a new and rare introduction from Buchholz Nursery. This dwarf shrubby maple has green leaves with subtle yellow variegations in spring. Fall color is yellow and orange. Its slightly elongated leaves are not flat yet not scrunched. This wonderful maple makes for an interesting focal point in any garden. Eventual height is 8 feet. Can be grown in sun or shade.
Small leaves open lightly variegated green and yellow. Fall colors range from yellow to orange. Discovered and introduced by the Flora Wonder(tm) Collection of Buchholz Nursery.
Dr. Seuss is an attractive bushy dwarf with mostly green leaves altho in spring they are variegated; the leaf lobes are narrow so it gives a delicate look without being sickly.
PALMATUM, green. There goes my favorite descriptor for A. p. 'Shishigashira'! This plant is really nothing like 'Shishigashira,' however it is equally unusual. The foliage is small, alternatively flat, scrunched, or sickle shaped. Elongated, deeply cut lobes on some leaves and more normal foliage the next petiole over gives this plant a slightly disheveled look. Of great interest, this is a plant worthy of your attention and garden space!
