Nursery contributed plant descriptions

As the name suggests, this glorious maple keeps its brilliant red leaves all season long. The foliage emerges red with shimmering silvery hairs and matures to deep-red for the summer. The pendulous, finely-dissected leaves of this vigorous 10-15' variety give it a feathery cascading appearance. This is a delight as a specimen tree. PSh/M
A very popular red laceleaf maple. Fine silver hairs appear on new growth leaves in the spring.
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Ever Red' - Cutleaf Japanese Maple is a selection which offers an unusual characteristic as the new leaves emerge; they are covered with fine silvery fur, and give the opening buds a grayish, blue tint. This form maintains its deep red color well into the summer.
Dissectum Group -red ? Shown above in Fall. At one time this maple was the most widely available dissectum in the U.S. Similar to Crimson Queen, but for a short period this maple has a unique silvery pubescence on new spring growth. This single feature creates an outstanding and unusual effect in spring that is not matched in any other Japanese Maple. Leaf droops, strengthening the cascade. Grows 3-4? in ten years.

New growth dark red, turns bronzy red-green late summer, then bright red in fall USDA Zones 5-9.
DISSECTUM, red. Syn. 'Everred' dissectum. The outstanding feature of this laceleaf maple is the silvery down that covers the new leaves as they unfold in spring. Once out, leaves exhibit deep red shades that hold well into summer, giving 'Everred' its name. This popular form grows into a beautiful, weeping mound, the outstanding habit for which Japanese maples are famous. Excellent for use as a container plant.
