Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This dwarf Japanese Maple originated as a witch's broom. Spring leaves are bright red, changing to green-red by summer. Fall color is bright red.
Oldest sport from A. 'Atropurpureum.' Foliage emerges bright plum-red slowly fading to green late in the season. Brilliant crimson in fall. Great small accent.
Although Brandt's Dwarf is vigorous as a youngster, it is a true dwarf and will top out at 3' x 3'. The spring and fall color is bright red with greenish in the middle. It is happy in full sun. Good container or rock garden plant.
DWARF, red. This unusual dwarf tree makes an ideal specimen tree or container tree. Dark, rusty-rose leaves burst forth in the spring and then, with the heat of summer, the leaves turn to a bluish green. The second growth in early summer repeats the rusty-rose color, then turning to a beautiful tan and ultimately to green. The combination of rose, tan and green is uniquely beautiful. Fall color is burnt-crimson.
