The lobed leaves of this fascinating variety vary from 5 to 7 lobes and each one is totally and strikingly different. 'Asahi zuru' is a small vigorous grower with the most interesting leaves. Each leaf is different and can range from totally green to a mixture of pink, cream, and white. Variegations can be small flecks of pink or white to patches of white. No two leaves are the same! Multi-stemmed trees can be quite striking. 'Asahi zuru', also known as the 'dawn swan', is a sure attraction to any garden!
Asahi zuru is known for its sharply defined clear white variegation on a rich green background. The variegated patches on the spring growth are a light pink before becoming white. This tree will turn heads! One of the oldest and best variegated Japanese Maples! The name means "The Dawn Swan".
