Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Spring leaves emerge in brilliant red bunches on this dwarf maple. A unique variety which has beautiful yellow-orange fall color.
This variety puts on a real show during the growing season. New leaves emerge rosy-red with light green mid rib and petiole. Aratama which means "uncut gem" is dwarf and compact in habit. During the summer, more green will appear in the middle of the leaf. Autumn will bring a blaze of orange-red. This variety is perfect for bonsai and container gardens.
This is a wonderful dwarf as it is varying reds all summer and holds up very well in the sun.
DWARF, red. A good dwarf shrub and one of the few dwarfs with showy red foliage, varying from a brick-red to a light purple-red. Base of the leaves is a strong green which often shows through, adding an interesting two tone effect. Slow growing to 3' in ten years. Takes full sunlight very well.
