Acer palmatum 'Aoba jo' - This is a strong green colored dwarf Japanese Maple Shrub. Leaves are 7 lobed and a good size for a dwarf tree. The coloring is green with bronze edges and tips, Fall colors are yellow with reddish hues. This tree is widely used as bonsai.
A dense growing maple with green leaves edged with bronze. In fall, turns yellow and red. Protect from late spring freezes for it is one of the earliest to leaf out. A popular bonsai selection. Translated the name means "beautiful green leaves".
Aoba jo is a tight dwarf of medium size. Does that make sense? Mine is about 6' x 6'; the leaves are a good green in summer and surprizingly large for a dwarf. Fall color is yellowish. Bonsai people like this plant.
DWARF, green. A most interesting dwarf with captivating blue-green leaves. This color is different from the typical Japanese maple. Good for the rock garden or any place where you want a small captivating, exceptional maple. A good candidate for bonsai.
