Found by fellow nurseryman, Bob Baltzer, about 20 years ago from a group of Acer palmatum seedlings. Small, five-lobes leaves are deeply divided and lightly toothed. Green with white prominent margins and a green midrib.
Alpenweiss has a delicate narrow reticulated leaf colored with green and pink on the edges. Stunning but slooooow growing and quick to lose spring coloration.
PALMATUM, variegated. This is a new introduction from Holland. It is more open than 'Butterfly' with similar foliage. We need to grow it a while to know its height. It seems as though it will be shorter than 'Butterfly', making it good for our smaller gardens and for pot culture
