Fall display is vivid oranges and reds. Akita yatsubusa is a true dwarf, only growing to about 3 feet in 10 years, with a natural bonsai form that does not need pruning!
A very dwarf Japanese Maple with a dense, round form. The small star shaped leaves emerge light green with a touch of red quickly turning to green for the summer. The fall color is a marvelous mix of red, orange, and yellow. The leaves of this variety look similar to ?Sharps Pygmy? but it will grow slower with denser branching. This makes it absolutely ideal for bonsai work.
