Is a dwarf Spanish fir. We have a 25 year old that is only 2'x2'. The stiff, blue gray needles are distinct from other firs. Makes an attractive plant either in the garden or in a container.
Very dense, powder blue ball. Found by Horstmann Nursery in Schneverdingen, Germany. Sometimes forms a leader which should be removed.
A German "Dwarf Spanish Fir" first originated as a witchbroom on an Abies pinsapo 'Glauca'. Growth Rate slow
Abies pinsapo ' Horstmann Nana ' - A dwarf cultivar of Spanish Fir. Prostrate and flat to the ground. Grows 4 inches a year. Leaves are blue with red male stamens.
Globose form with cactus-like look. Blue needles with red stamens in spring. Hardy to USDA zone 6.
DWARF. A dense, compact, spreading form with bright blue needles. Lovely to contrast in the summer border and suitable for the rock garden.
