Royal-blue sprays of flowers in late spring and early summer are loved by bees and butterflies. Deadhead to encourage rebloom. 2' tall, clumping.

Bugloss. This is a selection from Lodden Nurseries in England with intense gentian blue flowers to 3/4" across with a central white ring. A blue with few rivals in the garden. This is best in a sandy well drained soil as heavier clay or rich compost can rot the crown. Cut back hard after blooming.
