A hardy and fairly vigorous species from New Zealand which makes a flat-topped shrub 3'-4' tall in time. The foliage is fairly brownish yellow and the branchlets are tipped in clusters of small white flowers in early summer. 'James Stirling' is the cultivar most often seen and is more compact.
