Aloiampelos striatula [Orange] is an evergreen cactus / succulent with green foliage. In summer orange and yellow flowers emerge. Attracts beneficial insects and hummingbirds. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Perhaps the hardiest of the larger Aloes with some suggesting on the internet that is hardy to 15F. Surviving and looking good are two different things. I can see it surviving with a heavy mulch and regenerating from the base but would expect to see damage below the mid 20's. This is the less common orange and yellow flowered form.
