Perennial Snapdragon that hails from Spain, forms a compact 10-12” high and 18-24” wide clump of silver green, fuzzy foliage topped with pastel pink snappers all summer. Full sun on coast and cool summer areas, afternoon shade elsewhere; well drained, low fertility soils with only occasional summer water. Rock gardens, containers.
Shell-pink flowers bloom mid to late summer against rounded, downy, blue-grey leaves. Low and mounding.Minimum temperature: -20° F
It's amazing that this low growing snapdragon is as hardy as it is, with it's succulent, fuzzy leaves. Blooms profusely over a long period with relatively large pink flowers. Grows in mounds to about 2 feet wide. Best in dappled shade (full sun cooler climates) in well drained, rather lean soil and occasional summer water.
Awash with pastel charm, droves of soft pink flowers pose all summer long atop a silvery blue, low growing mound that can take the heat. Perfect for the rockery, a wall or along a pathway, this carefree perennial easily links stronger colored plants, while its thin curvy stems clad in glaucous, round fuzzy leaves crave a bright, sheltered well draining niche.
Improbably hardy perennial Snapdragon species from Spain. How could this be hardy? Look at those succulent velvety leaves - you can't tell me that's hardy. Well it is. Came through the frigid hell of 2010-11unscathed while impressive woody plants all around it fell like the dollar on the world market. Sugar pink flowers in summer. Low water needs.
