The tried and true classic blue hosta returns! An oldie, but goody, this smallish 18-20” cultivar has thick, spear shaped leaves of exceptional color and quality. Flowers in late summer are lavender and large. Easy to grow, almost too tough for snails.
Zn 4. Very blue heavily ribbed leaves.
An all-time favorite of the blue foliaged hostas, this one forms a 2ft wide clump of 15?? tall, rounded leaves, pointed when young. Holding its color well, it is a vigorous grower and durable, sending up beautiful blue- lavender flowers in summer. For part sun to light shade. Frost hardy in USDA zone 3.
A standout in the category of blue-green hostas, Halcyon features heavily textures leaves that grow so densely they crowd out most weeds. This sturdy perennial holds its blue color better than the completion, some of which fade to plain green by mid-summer. And hummer fans, take note - this is one of the few hostas that reliably attracts hummingbirds, even with lilac flowers, rather than usual red shades that hummers love.
