    Comanche Gooseberry is a broadleaf deciduous fruit / vegetable or shrub with green foliage. In spring and summer white flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in clay, gritty and well-drained soil.

    Bright green leaves set off many clusters of sweet, huge, red berries in midsummer. Mounding plant with long thorns; good as a hedge. This is the original selection from England, not the selection from Canada. Powdery mildew resistant. Very hardy. Shrub. Sandy or clay loams are best. USDA zones 3-9 (up to 9,000').
