One of the plants Jane Platt introduced to us in the early 70’s. The 8’x 8’ plant will cover itself with 2” soft yellow pendant flowers in March. A great plant to grow with magnolias as the color combines well.

Fragrant, bright yellow, pendent flowers appear before leaves in late February. Leaves are dark green and ovate to obovate in shape. Great floral display in early spring. Winter hazel has open, spreading habit. Grow in filtered sun in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Zone 5-8.
The beautiful arching and zig-zagging branches of this deciduous shrub look amazing holding snow in the winter and with the cheerful, pendulous, pale yellow flowers held in dangling racemes in early spring.
