Perhaps more properly placed in the species M. aurantiacus, this is still a shrubby monkeyflower, a California native selected by Suzanne Schettler for its creamy yellow flowers up to 2.5" wide and ruffled, produced year round where frosts are light. To 1-3' tall and evergreen, these plants tolerate summer drought, going dormant until the fall rains begin. Accepting of summer water as well where soil is well-drained and light is bright. Frost hardy to 15 °F, mid USDA zone 8.
