Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Lovely small oak, from Japan to southern China, with graceful drip-tipped leaves of bright and shiny green. In the understory, it makes a lovely layered specimen; in the sun a tall umbrella shape, in cultivation remaining under 20' for many years. Plants have remained evergreen to right around 0 to -5 °F; only slight damage at -8 °F. Summer water; otherwise not fussy. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7 to upper zone 6.
