Dwarf date palm, also known as mountain date palm, with blueish fronds and a habit of forming clusters. Forms an 8-10' tall trunk with age. Considered quite cold tolerant though not thoroughly tested. Sun to part shade in average soil. Drought tolerant once established but needs water in containers. Expected frost hardy into the lower 20s °F, bottom of USDA zone 9. Where temperatures drop lower, best in pots that can be wintered protected in freezing weather.
